In the context of digital photography, workflow refers to the steps taken to handle and image after it has been captured. Depending on the photographer, a variety of workflow (and software) is used.
When I am done with an event or a photography job, my workflow begins
- Transferring the RAW files to workstation
- Archiving original RAW files
- Categorizing and selecting photos from the series shot
- Adjusting exposure and light in the selected RAW captures
- Converting adjusted RAW capture to a format that can be processed by an image editor.
- Making further corrections to color and exposure
- Sharpening the image and reducing noise as needed
- Creating versions for specific uses at specific sizes
- Archiving the various finished versions of the photo
